Artist's Comments

Note that I am not cosplaying a character called "Ghetto Gendo" (some cousin of Pimp Gendo, perhaps?), but rather I am cosplaying as Gendo Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion, and since I spend all my money on anime and video games, this was the best I could do on a shoestring budget. Hopefully this year will be better. Note the license plate and NERV parking permit on my Nervmobile.
More like Nerdmobile. I know. ^_^

Taken at PortConMaine 2007, photography by Tous.

That's cool! It's nice to see another hard-core NGE fan with a fanbased license plate. I noticed the parking permit as well- I have mine on the front of my car on the windshield. It'd be cool if we ended up visiting the same con- the two cars parked next to each other would create quite the scene, no? My next con is Tekkoshocon in Pittsburgh, will be there April 12 and 13... in case you happen to be heading down that way...

I'm running art contests with many animes represented: among them are Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, NGE, Love Hina, FMP, and more! Check out the contest details here for contest #8: [link]

Sorry, the only cons I'm going to (unless I stumble backwards into money, heh) this year are PortConMaine and Otakon. Next year I hope I can make DragonCon, too.

Any chance you're headed to Otakon this year?

Next in line is an Apperture Science parking permit, methinks. I can work for NERV and Apperture Science, right? Kaji worked for NERV and Seele. =0

I'll have to see what's going on in my life around that time, is that in August?

Hope you can make it!

Are you driving down to this? That'd be really cool if you were, I work less then 75 mins from this place, I could attend most of the programming each day and still go to work as well, if I wanted to. I'm pretty sure I could make this convention...

That would be kick@$$, my friend. I went to the website, but they only have one guest listed so far for this year. I hope they update that soon, I'd like to see who's coming that I know or have met before.

Last year I met Jennifer Sekiguchi (Mamimi from the English version of FLCL) and had her autograph my 2nd disc case of FLCL (the one with Mamimi on the cover) and Morio Asaka (director of Chobits, amongst others) and had him autograph my Chobits box set.

ROCK!

But the best part is not the guests, the panels, or even all the awesome cosplayers. It's being surrounded by 30,000 of your fellow otaku. There is no feeling like it!
